song 29: risen Lord

Happy Easter! He is risen!!

Little Moses told me (Noah) this morning: “Easter is the best day of the whole year. It’s even better than Christmas”. Even at 6 years old, he understands. On Christmas we celebrate God coming into the world as a baby boy to live on earth as one of us. That’s mind-blowingly amazing!! But on Easter we celebrate that man Jesus conquering death once and for all — not only for Himself, but for everyone who believes in Him! Through Jesus we have eternal life — not just when we get to heaven, but HERE and NOW. The moment we invite His Spirit to come live in us, we enter the kingdom of heaven. Our eyes are opened to heavenly realities that we never knew existed before that moment. And we embark on the adventure we were all created for — union with God! As we see God for who He actually is (not just what we think He’s like), we begin to see ourselves the way He sees us: His beloved children. God is not angry at you. He is good, all the time. He is in love with you, always. He dreamed of you before the world was created, and the thought of you puts a huge smile on His face. God isn’t just a concept, He’s a person! And this person Jesus, has come to make all things new. Invite Him to come live in your heart, set you free, and empower you to live the life you’ve always known you were created for!

I wrote this song almost 12 years ago, just a few days after I had an encounter with Jesus that changed my whole life. He’s still changing my life to this day. He’s filled me with so much love I can’t help but share it! Even if you think you’ve heard all this before, I challenge you to take a minute to consider what Christ has done, and what it actually means for you. His love changes everything!!!

risen Lord now rise in me
let my life Your body be
make my heart, my hands and feet
servants of Your mercy

risen Lord now rise in me
let my life Your body be
take my heart, my hands and feet
lead them to Your glory

risen Lord now rise in me
all i am i offer Thee
lay my life down at Your feet
Holy Lord Almighty
